Testing Before Publishing

An Editor change is complete only after it has been verified in the public configurator.

What to do

Save all changes and start a new configuration from the customer’s website.
Test at least one complete journey for each active configurator and each edited type.
Repeat with a different brand, different ends and different lengths where applicable.
Check languages, images, summary, total and the commercial handoff on a phone as well.

Test the complete journey

Select a type.
Choose a compatible model.
Complete connectors and options.
Select the length. Soldering is optional: test the journey without selecting it and, when available, with it selected.
Check the summary.
Check the total.
Complete the commerce step.

Test multiple combinations

Do not stop after one configuration. Try multiple types and models to verify that associations work in every intended direction.

For each of the four configurators, when enabled, also test standard and silver soldering:

A blank or zero price must hide the option.
A price greater than zero must make the option available.
When both prices are blank or zero, the entire soldering section must be hidden; length selection must remain available.
Even with only one available option, no soldering must be selected automatically.
The journey must be completable without soldering, with no soldering charge or summary entry.
Selecting soldering must add its price to the total and show it in the summary.
Clicking the selected option again must clear it and remove its charge and summary entry.

Test invalid combinations

Confirm that incompatible options do not appear. For Signal cables, verify RCA/XLR filtering; for Power Cables, verify mains side, device side and compatible standards.

Mobile testing

Repeat the flow on mobile and check long labels, images, controls, progress indicators and final action buttons.

Appearance / Catalog backups

After saving appearance or restoring a catalog, test a complete configuration on the website using desktop and phone: check readability, images, options, quantity, prices, summary and the final action.
