Power cables
Correctly separate mains-side and device-side connectors and show only compatible standards.

What to do
- Select the power cable configurator in the Editor.
- Set up the equipment types and assign the models.
- For each connector, specify the mains or device side and the corresponding standard.
- Save and test each type: the choices shown must respect the configured side and standard.
Configurator
The power cable configurator lets you configure the connection between the mains supply and the equipment, distinguishing the mains side from the device side.
Types
Types identify the category of powered equipment and help determine which device-side standards are compatible.
Models
Associate every power cable model with at least one valid type.
Mains side and device side
Every connector must be classified as:
- Mains side — connection to the wall outlet or mains supply.
- Device side — connection to the equipment.
Mains-side standards
Available standards include Type A, B, C, E, F, G, I, J, Type L 10A and Type L 16A.
Device-side standards
Available IEC standards include C5, C7, C13, C15, C17 and C19.
Compatibility is not inferred from the visible connector name: BuildHype uses the configured side and standards.
Quantity
The configurator represents one configured power cable. The initial configuration quantity is 1.
Soldering
Tin and silver soldering are configured separately for each cable type. Enter a price greater than zero to make an option available; leave the price blank or set it to zero to hide it. If no soldering option is available, the section is hidden and the customer can continue without selecting one.
When at least one soldering option is available, a selection is required, even if there is only one option. No soldering option is selected automatically. The customer can change their choice by selecting another available option. The corresponding price is added to the total and shown in the summary.
Final checks
- Verify mains and device sides.
- Check associated standards.
- Try multiple equipment types.
- Verify incompatible combinations do not appear.
- Check summary and total.
